My Favorite Selection

My favorite selection from the free was "My Number One Sun". I choose it because of many reasons one of them was when I finished reading all of three selections I found it as the most familiar one for me, because I heard real story that similar to it, and i saw a serial story. Also this story we can found it all over the world not only in Chinese, Palestinian cultures.
"Ming" the oldest son on his family is symbol for many oldest son for many families around the world.
He was think that his father did not love him, because he lift him alone, but he surprised when his mother said to him that his father left "a golden watch" for him. I want to say that when his father did not want to leave him alone because he did not love him, he left him alone to be strong and to make him learn how to be independent, and to be ready to become the head of the family any time.
In the end I want to say that this story "My Number One Sun" was really an attractive story, with easiest word than the other stories,and i found it very easy to understand and I like it very much.

Indicident in a Rose Garden

First Impressions of "Incident in a Rose Garden"

1. Both poems leaves me with some feeling, because both of them has the same idea that all people afraid and hate death.
Because in both "Incident in a Rose Garden" and "Annabel Lee", although the character of death is different, but the same felling that the death is unwelcome.


Second Thoughts on "Incident in a Rose Garden"

2. The misunderstanding occurs in the poem that the gardener thinks death came to take him away, because he was an old man. But really, the death was coming to take the master.
The death did not care about what the master say because death take both young and old people.

3.The master was not afraid, because he think that the death couldn't reach him because of his age. In contrast the gardener was very afraid, because he was old. So he because he thought that the death took him away.

4. These techniques are affected on me. This poem is written in an attractive, interesting way with a dynamic images.

When somebody how is closed to you, one of your family member, your friend, your loved one is death you will fell so sad and maybe want to die too or some people wear black all they klife and fell that all is happening in their life is not important and meaningless

Yes i fell very sorry about him, because he did not live the life he wants to live and live it in his daydream.

2. What differences do you see between the kind of person Mitty is in his fantasies and the kind of person he is in real life?

There are many differences, the kind of person Mitty in his fantasies he was a hero, a pilot, lawyer and very good doctor. He imagine his self as a success man in his life, but in the real life he did not like that, he is failure man and all the people around him specially his wife did not help him to success.

3. How would you characterize the way that Mitty's wife and other people in the story treat him?

They treat very bad, him his wife is so selfish, control him as a child or as very old person how did not know what he should do or did not know what is the write think to do.

4. Why do you think Mitty's fantasies are so important to him?

Because he see himself as he want to be in his real life, and he fell very good and success person.

5. Why do you think Mitty has the fantasy of the firing squad at the end?

I think he fantasy that because he thought it is the end of the important and strong person, and because all of his fantasies himself as an important, strong persons, so that he has the fantasy of the firing squad at the end.

6.Are Mitty's daydreams a help or ce to him, or a hindrance both? Explain your opinion.

Mitty's daydreams both help and hindrance, it "help" him to live happy as he want to be and fell satisfied, and I think it hindrance because when he come back to his real life he will fell very bad, sad.

Internal conflict in the story is between Mitty's fantasy and his real life, when he fantasy that he was a leader or any important strong person.
External conflict between Mitty and his wife and other people (such as the shoe owner).
The internal conflict is more important in the story than the external conflict, because the conflict start with the himself, and because of that the external conflict came.
